Crumbl Cookies: Delicious Cookies and Their Incredible Journey

One Big Dream

Crumbl Cookies began with a big dream shared by two ambitious cousins, Jason McGowan (CEO) and Sawyer Hemsley (COO). Armed with the perfect combination of flour, sugar, and chocolate chips, they dove headfirst into the world of baking. Their journey wasn’t without its challenges; they faced countless recipe failures and wasted dough. Yet, their determination to create the perfect cookie led them to seek feedback and test their recipes with the public. This practice of gathering feedback remains a core part of the Crumbl process today, ensuring their cookies always meet the highest standards. Their efforts eventually paid off, resulting in the creation of the world’s best chocolate chip cookie.

First Store

With their perfect recipe in hand, Jason and Sawyer opened the first Crumbl Cookies store in Logan, Utah, in 2017, while Sawyer was attending Utah State University. From the beginning, transparency and quality were paramount. Customers could watch their cookies being mixed, balled, baked, and dressed in real-time. Initially, Crumbl only offered fresh milk chocolate chip cookies for takeout and delivery. However, they soon expanded their services to include curbside pick-up, catering, nationwide shipping, and more.

Weekly Rotating Menu

As Crumbl Cookies grew, so did their menu. Their famous milk chocolate chip cookie was joined by the chilled pink sugar cookie, becoming a semi-permanent menu item. In December 2018, Crumbl introduced a rotating menu concept, offering four new flavors each week. This rotating menu keeps customers coming back to taste new and innovative cookies inspired by popular flavors, foods, and desserts. Whether you crave a pie, cake, or candy-inspired cookie, Crumbl’s rotating menu ensures there’s always something new to try.

Famous Pink Box

Crumbl Cookies are not just known for their delicious taste but also for their iconic pink packaging. The “4-pack” pink box, developed in 2018, quickly became a symbol of the brand. Designed by Sawyer and his classmates at Utah State University, the unique oblong-shaped box perfectly fits each Crumbl cookie side-by-side. The distinctive shape and signature pink color make it instantly recognizable and Instagrammable, perfect for sharing your Crumbl experience on social media.

Crumbl Around The World

Since its inception five years ago, Crumbl Cookies has expanded to over 800+ bakeries across all 50 states, becoming the fastest-growing cookie company in the U.S. In 2023, Crumbl took its first step into the international market, opening stores in Canada. Despite its rapid growth, Crumbl remains a family-owned business, proud to support its thousands of local franchise partners, managers, and bakers. With each new bakery, Crumbl strives to bring friends and family together over a box of the best cookies in the world.
